Uses 4 AA batteries so NO A/C is needed. Movement activated (PIR) light switches itself on as you approach, and automatically switches off 15 seconds later after you leave. Daylight sensor eliminates daytime operation. This saves the batteries because this only turns on when you need it. Turns on at night (dark area) only when it senses motion.
